Microsoft introduced Always-On Virtual Private Network (VPN) in Windows 10 to replace Microsoft DirectAccess. Like DirectAccess, Always-On VPN provides an constant connection to the corporate network anywhere there’s an internet connection.
To help customers deploy Always-On VPN or migrate to it from DirectAccess, we produced two deeply technical guides. The article Always-On VPN deployment and migration guides describes this project.
Hands-on labs
As a follow-up to the technical guides, Microsoft asked us to produce two hands-on labs (HOLs): one for a greenfield Always-On VPN deployment and another for a brownfield DirectAccess-to–Always-On VPN migration. We produced these labs on the Learn on Demand Systems platform.
The idea behind the labs is to provide a risk-free environment in which IT pros can practice the deployment before moving on to their production environments. For that reason, the HOLs replicate the guides’ infrastructure and instructions closely.
