Microsoft Ignite is a big deal for IT pros. (We don’t get out much, and it’s great to socialize with like-minded people.) Ask 10 of them their favorite part of Ignite, and you’ll get 15 different answers: the keynote, technical sessions, expo, and of course, the amazing parties. However, we’re pretty partial to the hands-on labs, and there were hundreds of them available to the 26,000+ people attending from more than 100 countries.
We developed several of the hands-on labs at Ignite, based on the Learn on Demand Systems platform. Our labs focused on Microsoft 365, the combination of Office 365, Windows 10, and Enterprise Mobility + Security. These were all new development, so we didn’t reuse any preexisting content.
Interestingly, these hands-on labs focused on modern deployment, management, and security. That means, we had fewer virtual machines connecting to more Microsoft cloud services than in earlier labs. For example, these are some of the first deployment labs we’ve developed that never mention the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit.
